Where We Fish
We fish the Neuquén and Aluminé basins in northern Patagonia: spring creeks, freestone water and hard-won access, all within reach of our camps. We do not publish river names. What stays quiet stays wild, and our guests get it to themselves.
The Lodge Moves With You
Our trips, we call them fly fishing safaris, move while you fish. Safari means glamping camps, lodges, hosterías and cabins, all chosen within reach of the water we fish that day. Hot pressurized showers, real beds or comfortable camp with bed proper linens, a chef at the fire with fresh drinks bar, all set up before you arrive. Each morning starts on water you have not seen the day before.
Planning a fly fishing trip to Argentina
Most anglers who dream about trout fishing in Argentina picture the famous lodges around San Martin de los Andes or Esquel. Our water sits north of all that. The Neuquen and Alumine basins hold spring creeks, freestone rivers and canyon pools that see a handful of flies a season, and our mobile camp lets you fish a different stretch every single day. You sleep well, eat better, and never repeat water.
The season runs from November through May. Browns and rainbows are wild, the wind is softer than in southern Patagonia, and the access goes through working estancias we have known for years. We stay away from the big name lodges and the destinations everyone already sells, on purpose. A group here never shares the water, the table or the truck with strangers, and the whole trip stays closer to a trip among friends than to a booking. On the fishing itself and on the service, we have nothing to envy the large operations.
Our crew is from here, and the families who own the land along this water are neighbours, old friends, in some cases our own. That is what opens the gates and the ranch tracks, and why a day out there usually means a gaucho moving stock and nobody else.
- When is the fly fishing season in northern Patagonia, Argentina?
- From November through May. Early season brings high water and streamers, mid summer is dry fly time, and late season gives the best shot at big migratory browns.
- Where exactly do you fish?
- Across the Neuquen and Alumine river basins in Neuquen Province. We do not publish river names: what stays quiet stays wild, and our guests get it to themselves.
- Do I need to be an expert caster?
- No. Our guides work every day with anglers of all levels. If you can put a fly at forty feet you will catch fish, and if you cannot yet, you will learn fast.
- Can I travel on my own?
- Yes. Every trip is built to measure, so a solo angler is as welcome as a group of six. If you would rather not fish alone, we can also look at placing you with a group that is already forming: it depends on availability, and it only happens if you and the group both agree.
- How do I book a trip?
- Tell us your group size and the season you have in mind, through the contact form or on WhatsApp. We answer personally, usually within a day. Dates and length are set together, from a few days to two weeks or more, and before anything is confirmed we set up a video call so you can put a face to the person who will run your trip. No payment is taken online. If the call confirms it, we send a written agreement covering the programme, the terms and the cancellation conditions. The trip is definitively booked when the deposit reaches us.
